CNE RC Car Soccer Game (2025)

We were commissioned by the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) to design and build an interactive RC Car Soccer game for the Gaming Garage. The playfield measured 6’ x 10’ and was designed for easy assembly and disassembly, making it ideal for a high-traffic event.

To ensure continuous play, we provided extra RC cars so that some could be charging while others were in use. Each car was branded with custom CNE decals and both the cars and their remotes were colour coded. This solved a challenge we encountered during playtesting, where participants had difficulty matching cars with their remotes.

The build featured angled 45° corners so the soccer ball would never get stuck. The walls were finished with a custom mixed scuff resistant paint and lined with a plastic barrier to withstand repeated RC car impact. The playing field graphics were designed in house and produced on durable styrene boards with the help of Cameron Advertising.

Assembly required no tools. Every wall and board slotted into place, secured by toggle latches. To make the process foolproof, all pieces were colour coded so that anyone could set up or take down the game quickly and correctly. The entire structure, including the cars and boards, packed neatly into a custom cart for transport and storage.

This project was a blast to create and quickly became a standout attraction in the Gaming Garage.
