Our Fallout 4 Nuka Cola bottles were developed after realizing that our original glass versions were more accurate to Fallout 3. For the next run, we wanted to shift the design closer to the look of Fallout 4.

The process began with a custom 3D model that was printed in solid FDM plastic. Because the mold would be used for pressure casting, the master print was produced nearly solid for stability. The surface was then refined through repeated rounds of sanding, primer, paint, and 2K clear coat to achieve a smooth finish before molding.

A 2 part silicone mold was created using Mold Max 30 by Smooth On, housed in a custom wooden jacket. The bottles were cast using Smooth Cast 326 resin with custom dye blends to dial in the correct color. After casting, each bottle was sanded and finished with a final 2K automotive clear coat to achieve a glass-like appearance.

Screen printed aluminum bottle caps were pressed onto each bottle, and the logos were applied using vinyl and heat to conform cleanly to the curved surfaces.

The final pieces have a weight and finish that feel close to the in-game look, and we were very happy with how this run turned out.
