Halo Assassination Knife
The Halo Assassination knife is used by Spartans in Halo 4/ Halo 5. I wanted to upgrade my knife for our new Halo Master Chief build to offer a con-safe knife that can be casted out of resin or a flexible rubber as well as retaining all the details.
We started by getting a real metal knife, an exact model from the game. We prepped it by adding clay in places where there isn't detail in the game. This also makes it easier to cast, and can optionally be added on later. A 2 part mold was created, splitting it down the middle. We used Smooth-On silicone, Mold Max 20 to create the mold. After both sides of the knife are covered in silicone. We can pull it apart, take out the metal knife and start making replicas from any material we desire.
These casts are made using Smooth Cast 300 - a very fast setting resin (10 minute de-mold time). It is also a rigid resin so it will hold its shape and be comfortable to wield. Future casts will be made using flexible rubbers such as the Task series from Smooth-On.
