We partnered with Cameron Advertising to create a set of 2-foot-tall gingerbread figurines for a holiday mall display.
The figures were carved from XPS insulation foam, coated with a durable hard coat for strength, then sanded and painted to match the festive look. Each figurine had an embedded metal rod in the base for installation.
The gumball drops were sculpted from Styrofoam and finished with a faux sugar coating for a candy-like sparkle. The candy canes were built from foam by combining rounded and straight rod sections. For the juggling props, we used armature wire that provided stability while keeping the illusion that the items were floating in midair.
One standout piece was a gingerbread sitting inside a giant hot chocolate cup. The cup itself was carved from XPS foam, hard-coated, and painted blue with white snowflake accents. The “hot chocolate” was made using clear platinum silicone dyed brown, which gave it the reflective qualities of real liquid without relying on painted effects.
The final set brought a playful, larger-than-life holiday energy to the display while being durable enough for long-term installation.
