We were asked to create a 3-foot-tall Minecraft Steve statue as a centerpiece for an Xbox gaming event in Toronto, where kids could play and build LEGO around it.
To ensure accurate proportions, we started with a Pepakura file, which was scaled up to the correct size and transferred onto foam core board. Using in-game images as references, we color-matched the paint and airbrushed each piece before carefully assembling them with epoxy—one section at a time as it cured.
Once completed, Steve was mounted on a base and proudly displayed at the event!
