For Toronto Fan Expo 2020, we were asked to create five Molotov cocktail props from PUBG for the Xbox Canada booth. Using in-game reference photos, we replicated the look as accurately as possible—without making them dangerous, of course!
To achieve the "dirty water" effect, we mixed food dyes to match the in-game appearance. The custom labels were designed and applied, while ropes were securely attached to the bottle necks and permanently sealed for durability. To ensure they could withstand the event, we waterproofed each bottle.
For a battle-worn look, we used spray glue and a generous coating of authentic dirt™, giving them that gritty, well-used feel straight from the game.
These props were a blast to make, and seeing them displayed at Toronto Fan Expo was just as exciting as crafting them!
