We were commissioned by PTNR Production to create four hollow resin basketballs for a Cheetos x Puma collaboration. Each ball featured both brand logos.
Since platinum silicone wouldn’t cure due to contaminants in the rubber, we used tin-cure silicone to mold a basketball with no logo indents for a clean cast. The balls were then cast in Smooth Cast 65D, chosen for its lightweight yet strong properties.
After sanding and cleaning, the balls were spray-painted white, and the black lines were hand-drawn with an oil-based paint marker for durability and precision. The logos were cut from Oracal vinyl, designed for high-detail contours.
For the signature Cheeto dust effect, we used orange chalk paint as an adhesive and applied orange flocking, giving the balls a soft, textured feel—a fun, non-food alternative to actual Cheetos dust!
