We had the opportunity to develop a set of prototype display pieces for SOURZ, on behalf of Cameron Advertising. The ask was to take a flat 2D image and transform it into three different-sized 3D units suitable for display case mockups.
We began by modeling the artwork into a 3D form, which was then printed in PLA. From there, we sanded the prints smooth and used XTC-3D to create a glossy, refined surface. Once finished, the master was molded in silicone and cast using Smooth-Cast 300 urethane resin from Smooth-On.
After casting, each piece was cleaned up, sanded, and painted with custom-matched colours. To create the sharp white outline, we used a soft sponge lightly coated in white acrylic paint and carefully glided it over the surface.
The idea was to present these as production-ready mockups, so precision and polish were key. While the project didn’t move past the prototype stage, we're proud of the transformation from concept to tangible display in such a short timeframe.
