We collaborated with Temi Canada, a futuristic robotics company, to design and build a custom housing unit for their existing personal robots. The goal was to integrate specialized disinfecting LEDs onto the exterior so the robot could navigate a space and sanitize areas as it passed.
The project began with a 3D model and went through several revisions before finalizing a design ready for 3D printing. Each part was sanded smooth and finished with automotive-grade white paint for a sleek, durable look.
Key considerations included integrating custom shelves, magnets, LEDs, batteries, heat management, and weight distribution — all while ensuring a precise fit to the existing robot. We also produced a silicone mold, enabling future castings in more durable materials.
An additional back shelf was developed to demonstrate Temi’s capability to deliver food to customers, expanding its potential applications.
This project was a unique blend of real-world robotics and prop/SFX craftsmanship — taking cutting-edge technology and enhancing it with creative, functional design.
