We were commissioned by Cameron Advertising to fabricate custom foam cubes for The Price Is Right. The build included 10 small 4 inch rounded cubes and 20 5 inch dice with beveled 45° edges.
Each piece was constructed from dense EVA foam. The panels were cut at precise angles and assembled using contact cement. Once assembled, a 5 mm guide line was traced on each face to define the bevel, which was then carved using a Dremel with a stone bit.
Seam lines were refined using a combination of flexible fillers including DAP Alex Plus and Flexi-Filler. Every cube was then wet sanded to clean the edges and smooth the surface.
For finishing, the cubes were coated with Plasti Dip as a primer using several light coats. This was followed by multiple light coats of Maker Pro Paint mixed with a flex additive, sprayed through an HVLP gun to achieve a smooth, durable finish.
Custom vinyl graphics were printed and applied to each cube to meet the client’s specifications, completing a set of high quality, camera ready game show props.
