We were tasked with creating a replica of a custom fish cake (naruto) for a Toronto Raptors commercial shoot. With a very short time to build it, this project was a fun challenge.
The base was sculpted from Apoxie Sculpt, using a custom 3D-printed stamp to achieve evenly spaced grooves. After smoothing the surface with water, it was left to cure before being painted white. The iconic swirl was made from custom-cut red vinyl, then sealed with a clear coat to make the prop water-resistant—perfect for surviving a bowl of ramen on set.
