Toronto Ultra Sniper Statue – Call of Duty Major III (2022)

We were commissioned to create a life-sized sniper statue for Toronto Ultra’s Call of Duty Major III tournament. The goal was to capture a realistic tactical look while incorporating the team’s signature colours.

We began with a duct tape mannequin to ensure accurate proportions and stance, later filling it with foam and paper for structure. Authentic tactical gear was sourced to sell the realism. While the original plan was to use a full-metal .50 caliber airsoft rifle, we switched to a lightweight plastic version for long-term stability. Custom 3D-printed safety tips were added to the barrel ends.

The ghillie suit started white and was dyed purple, with additional paint, yarn, and string for texture and variety. Gloves and boots were painted to match, with custom wire armatures inside the gloves for poseable hands.

The base was built from wood and topped with faux turf, trees, leaves, dirt, rocks, and shrubs, hiding a discreet elbow support rod to hold the rifle. Wheels and removable rifle-holding hands made transport to events easier.

The final piece blended authenticity, stability, and showmanship—bringing Toronto Ultra’s vision to life for fans and players alike.
