We were tasked with creating a custom trophy for the winner of the Xbox Game Pass Series finale—a striking golden hand holding an Xbox controller atop a sleek base with nameplates.
With an extremely short timeline, we jumped into action. Using a brand-new Xbox One controller, we made an Alginate mold of Mike’s hand gripping the controller. The hand was then cast in Ultra Cal 30, sanded smooth, and finished with a rich gold gloss paint.
To ensure a sturdy base, we 3D printed, molded, and cast a heavier platform, which was then securely bolted to the hand sculpture.
From concept to completion in just three days, this was a fast-paced and exciting project—and we couldn’t be happier with the final result!
